The Zap Surveys app is available in the Google Play and Apple App Store. You can also access your account via their website.

The core way to earn money with Zap Surveys is to take free online surveys. Each survey is labeled with how much you earn for completing it and how long it is expected to complete. 

Zap Survey pays you cents for every survey that you complete. No points, coins, or annoying exchanges! Just good old fashion cash. There are higher-paying surveys that pay out a few dollars for completion. 

Getting Started

To get started, you download the app and create an account. You can also create an account at ZapSurveys.com. You can create an account with an email address, or you can use a social account to create your account. Facebook, Google, and Apple OAuths make the signup process easy. 

A quick note. If you use a 3rd party app to create your account, like Facebook. The email address tied to your Facebook account will be used for your Zap account. This is important when you go to cash out via Paypal. Zap Surveys will send an authorization code to that email to process your cashout.

Zap displays three surveys that are the best rewards for your time based on your profile.

Best Match Surveys

A large selection of surveys that are available and best for you based on your profile. These surveys reduce the likelihood of being disqualified as you take the survey. 

How you answer the first few questions determines if you will be eligible for the survey. How many responses from people with similar profiles also impacts your eligibility. 

It’s a dynamic process; you will get kicked out of many surveys. But it’s part of the gig, and you get used to it. 

Zap Surveys does pay you a few cents as a consolation prize, which helps soften the blow. But, no one likes getting rejected, even by faceless survey companies. 

High-Value Surveys

This section is a list of high-value surveys available for you to try. This is where you’ll likely find the surveys worth a few bucks. I’ve found that I get disqualified more often when I go for high-value surveys worth a few dollars. These surveys also take about 20 to 30 mins to complete. 

Daily Check-In

Zap Surveys offers a fun way to earn extra money with their daily check-in. Each day you can log in and claim 3 cents by checking in. In addition, you earn extra rewards for maintaining a streak of check-ins. 

A daily survey is also boosted to offer you more than its standard cents payout. You also earn extra rewards by maintaining a streak of doing daily surveys. You make a solid 3 extra dollars for hitting the daily survey milestones. 

Earning these free bonuses for keeping your streak alive is also surprisingly rewarded. The third and final bonus offered on the daily check-in page is the lifetime earning bonus. You’ll earn a few extra dollars for hitting lifetime earning targets. For example, I got an additional $4.00 when my survey earnings exceeded 75 dollars. 

Double Dollar Day: 

This is an entertaining promotion that Zap Survey runs from time to time. They call it Double Dollar Day. Every survey pays out double the usual amount for that day. It’s a limited-time offer, so you better take advantage of it while it lasts!

Don’t worry the app will send you a push notification letting you know it’s double dollar day. They’ll also tweet it, so follow them on Twitter to stay in the loop.

Your Rank

You earn bonus cents and unlock higher-paying surveys by increasing your rank. But, you need to complete a few activity milestones to access the next level. 

Navigate to the inBrain.ai page within the app. It’s under the Surveys Partner section header. Tap on the middle navigation item at the top of the page. It’s three bars, like a little bar chart. That’s where you’ll see your current rank. You’ll also see the milestone to unlock the next level and the reward for doing so. 

Refer Friends

Zap Surveys has a simple refer a friend program. You have a unique link in the app that you send to friends or family to sign up. You earn $0.45 for every friend you invite. In addition, your friend gets a $0.75 bonus for signing up through your link. 

Cash Back

You can also earn rewards in Zap Survey with their cashback deals. There are two primary deal types. 

First, you can earn a % cash back by shopping with the retailers featured in the app. Instacart, Warby Park, Old Navy, and the Home Depot are among the familiar retailers.  

You can also earn fixed dollar amounts by signing up for deals like Disney plus or Hulu from the link in the app. 

All these options cost money and are interesting if you’re in the shopping mode. 

Location Rewards

This appears to be an old feature that is no longer available. Location sharing is a passive way to earn a few cents by having the app track your location. This data is packaged and sold to third parties. It’s passive, but it means you’re being tracked, your data is sold, and your phone battery is drained.

I’m glad to see Zap moved away from this. It’s a low-quality way to earn rewards. 

How much does Zap Surveys pay?

The surveys on Zap pay when you complete the survey. The amount varies based on the study. The survey payouts range from a few cents up to 4 dollars. 

You are immediately credited when you complete a survey. Also, if you get disqualified during the survey, you’ll get two cents as a consolation prize. 

How much money can you make on Zap Surveys?

You’re not going to get rich taking online surveys. Let’s be clear about that from the beginning. You also can’t make enough money to quit your day job. 

I earn about 5 to 10 dollars an hour taking surveys with Zap. This combines my survey earnings and the bonus rewards made via the daily check-ins. 

Figure an hour a day at 5 dollars per hour means I can make about $150 per month from just taking surveys. I take surveys during 5 to 15-minute stretches of downtime throughout the day. You can scroll through your social media posts or make a few cents. It requires the same amount of brain cells 😉

Get to Survey Champion status, and you’ll unlock the highest-paying survey available. I regularly see a few dollar-plus surveys in the app to choose from. 

I’ve also found that I complete surveys at 50% to 75% of the estimated time per survey. Those estimates are conservative, which makes sense. I’d rather be surprised it was faster than pissed it took longer as a user. 

Is Zap Surveys safe?

There’s no reason to think Zap Surveys is unsafe. The app and website require passwords. Google and Apple also review the app’s security as part of being in the app store. 

Market research companies do ask for any personally identifiable information in their surveys. That’s standard practice. They want to put you in an audience bucket, but they don’t want to know who you are. 

If it makes you feel better, the market research companies don’t care who you are as an individual. You’re a data point to them; they sell anonymized results to brands. 

Expect to share your age, date of birth, zip code, income, and home ownership status. That type of information. You will not need to share your name, email, phone, or address. 

Only an email address is tied to your Zap account. Be security savvy and pick a good password to protect your account! I’m a long-time user and support of LastPass. Creating good passwords and staying safe online is a must these days. Take it seriously!

Is Zap Surveys free?

Taking surveys on Zap Surveys is absolutely free. You trade your time and opinions for cents. But it doesn’t cost you any money out of pocket. 

There is a page in the app that enables you to earn cashback. For example, you can earn cashback if you shop with one of Zap’s brand partners. Or if you sign up for a deal like Disney plus. Obviously, these cashback offers cost money, so they’re not free. 

If you want free, stick to the surveys.

They have a pretty poor rate on Trustpilot. 2.3 start out of 5 is not great. I’m surprised how low this rating is. But it’s only 16 reviews, so it doesn’t hold much water.

Is Zap Surveys a scam?

There are a lot of scams online, but I think it’s safe to say that Zap Surveys is not one of them. They offer users a solid user experience via the app and website. You take free surveys and earn real money. It’s pretty easy to do and not complicated. 

The survey partners Zap works with are also legit market research companies. 

Zap Surveys app is not working!

If you’re like me, you primarily use the zap surveys mobile app on your phone. It’s available in the Google Play and Apple App Store. I use the Zap Surveys Andriod app on my Google Pixel phone. In the last 30 days, I did experience a few instances of the app not loading correctly. 

There is a moment of panic when the app doesn’t load as expected. WTF my Zap Surveys app is not working! Did I just lose all my activity? Did I cash out this week? What’s going to happen to my accrued earnings! 

Firstly, stay calm. Here’s what I did to get the app working correctly again on my Android phone.

1. Close the app. 
2. Tap and hold down on the app icon. A menu will appear, and you’ll see a “Pause app” option on your screen.
3. Tap that to pause the app. Tap the app icon again, and you’ll see a window that says, “App paused.” 
4. Tap the Unpause app option on the screen.
5. Once the app is unpaused, it should fire back up and load properly. Phew! Problem solved. 

You can also access your account at ZapSurveys.com. Log in and see the same account connected to the app. So even if the Zap Surveys app is not working, you can safely access your account on their website. No need to panic!

You can also take surveys and cash out on the website. I prefer using the app to take surveys. But, the web UI for taking surveys is also simple and easy to use. Survey questions with many response choices would be way easier to do on a computer than on your phone. 

You can also review your earnings history if you log in to your account via the website. Having a record of every transaction is super helpful. I’m not sure why this page isn’t available in the app, but it’s on the web if you need it.

In the app, you can view the survey history for the inBrain.ai surveys. Your Rewards tab shows how much you earned today, the last 30 days, and recent transactions. This activity is only for inBrain.ai-powered surveys. 

Is zap surveys legit?

Zap Surveys is a legit way to get paid by taking surveys online. It’s easy and convenient to do right from your phone. Zap Surveys is currently my favorite paid survey app/website. 

The user experience is clean and easy. The surveys are simple to complete the payouts are solid. I cashed out via PayPal, and the money hit my account in a few days. It was painless. 

I think Zap Surveys is a great way to earn beer money during those dull time blocks throughout the day. Monetize your morning commute by taking a few surveys. You can even make money while in the bathroom! But your partner might wonder why you are on the toilet for 20 minutes. 

Zap Survey Cash Out

Zap Surveys offers several options to cash out your earnings. For example, you can cash out with an Amazon, Visa, or Starbucks Giftcard. Or you can cash out via PayPal, which is my preferred method for Rewarded apps. 

Zap has a 25-dollar minimum to cash out. While that is higher in the rewarded app world, it’s a reasonable milestone to hit. I think it’s a suitable threshold and encourages you to get to know the app before cashing out. Then, you’ll understand how easy it is to keep going and earn another 25 bucks. 

If you cash out via the website vs. the app, only the amazon and visa gift card options are available. 

How long does Zap Surveys take to pay?

I cashed out via PayPal with Zap Surveys. It took 2 days for the funds to hit my PayPal account. They told me it would take 2 to 3 days during the cashout process, so I had the right expectations.

Is Zap Surveys Worth it?

Zap Surveys is definitely worth a try. It’s minimal time risk, no out-of-pocket costs, and creating an account only takes a minute. So you really don’t have much to lose. If you hate it, you’ll know in the first hour or so. If you like it, it can be fun to earn a few bucks daily! 

Keep the streak alive, and you can quickly clear a hundred bucks a month. Spend it on something fun or be savvy and invest it! 

Completing a survey with your morning coffee is surprisingly satisfying. You feel productive, like checking off an item on your daily to-do list. It’s a simple thing, but it’s a dopamine hit.
